Economic Growth
In Partnership with

Connections to Grow
GNHCC’s economic development initiative represents the collective voice of Greater New Haven Region’s 500,000 businesses, leveraging private and public-sector. We serve as a catalyst for progress, focusing our resources to support priorities that include business growth and retention, physical development, economic inclusion, advocacy, education, and workforce development.
In partnership with the Regional Water Authority, we endeavor to create a global hub of talent, innovation, and opportunity in the region. Making it easier to do business in the region is vital to realizing this ambitious — but doable — vision. Our strongest accomplishments are our partnerships and our continued growth in manufacturing, health care and biosciences, education, technology, and tourism leadership, ensuring our business community’s long-term support and success.

What is Business Retention & Expansion (BRE)?
The BRE Initiative, led by the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, is a proactive program designed to strengthen and expand businesses in our region. Our goal is to enhance their economic impact while providing essential resources and solutions to foster growth.
How We Help
Access to the right information is crucial for business success. That’s why we engage directly with local businesses, gaining insight into the resources they need to thrive and remain in the region. Through these conversations, we identify trends and advocate for increased support, reduced regulatory burdens, and enhanced resources—leveraging our public policy advocacy efforts to drive meaningful change.
