The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce invites members to submit nominations for this year’s Business Leadership Awards. The awards will be presented at the Annual Awards Luncheon on October 22, 2010 at the Omni-New Haven Hotel.
Eligibility Each nominee must be a member of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce. Nominees must have exhibited exceptional business or community leadership skills, noteworthy results, and be an active participant in business and/or community organizations.
Award Categories
Technology Innovation This award is given to a company that has become a leader within the technology industry or has substantially fostered the growth of technology in Greater New Haven in 2010.
Legislative Leadership This award honors a senator, representative, mayor, first selectperson, councilperson, or alderperson within the region who has demonstrated strong support for issues important to both Greater New Haven businesses and residents in 2010.
Small Business Leadership This award is given to an owner-managed company with outstanding attributes in one or both of these areas: • Growth (in profitability and/or employee base) • Innovation (business design, products or services)
Leadership in Health Care Given to a company that has increased health care jobs or the viability of the health care sector in Greater New Haven through business innovation in 2010.
Volunteer of the Year Given to a Chamber member who has volunteered time and effort on behalf of Chamber programs or projects.
Developer Investment Given to a company or organization that has made a significant contribution – financial or otherwise – to develop or redevelop property in our region in 2010 in projects using private funds. Development may be residential, commercial or industrial.
Business in the Arts This award is given to a company or organization that has gone above and beyond customary ways to further the impact of arts and culture in the region in 2010 and demonstrate partnership between business and the arts.
Manufacturing This award is given to an area company that has helped solidify the place of manufacturing in the region through expansion, job creation, product development, or investment in its manufacturing facilities in 2010.
Nonprofit Partnership Award Recognizes an active partnership between a Chamber business and a nonprofit organization. This award fosters the goal of business and nonprofit partnerships that enhance and strengthen the community while providing mutual benefit to the partnering organizations.
